My iPhone–or, as I like to call it, my photography sketchbook–continues to play a major role in my creative workflow as a photographer. As “the camera that’s always with me” it keeps me observing the world around me, pushes me to expand my vision and creativity, and keeps me practicing composition almost daily. Given that my approach to photography is often reductionist in nature, I've recently begun exploring the pairing of Haiku poems with my snapshots to see what it can teach me about word economy and metaphor.
