Rolleiflex

 Rolleiflex

This is my second block print series, Rolleiflex.  I based this design off of the iconic twin lens reflex camera of the same name.  The Rolleiflex was a tried and true standard for many professional photographers in its day due to its compact size, light weight, sturdy build and superior optics.  Models like the one represented here are still highly sought after on the used market today.

These prints are currently for sale as an open edition (meaning I am not limiting the number of prints I’ll produce).  I have chosen for this print to use black ink on a textured ivory stock (acid free, archival paper, of course).  If you click on the image above to see it full size you should be able to see the texture of the paper I’m using (if not then your monitor is probably set too bright).  Each print is pulled by hand and comes signed, numbered, and dated.

Personally, I like a little noise in my block prints (noise is the small white specks in the black filled areas where the ink didn’t fully contact the paper) because it shows character, the texture of the paper, and makes each print completely unique.  However, if you would like a cleaner print with less noise I am happy to print it that way for you, just specify when ordering.

The price is $45 for just the print, or $65 including a mat and frame as shown above (see my previous post for details on how I mat and frame my work).  The size of the actual printed image is 4.5″ x 6.5″ and the paper size is 8.5″ x 11″ to allow some distance between the print and mat when framed.  If you purchase the print matted and framed the total size is approximately 13″ x 16.”  Orders can be placed directly through me via any of the contact methods listed on my website at www.johnnykerr.com.
