This photograph does no justice to perhaps the most majestic sight these eyes have ever seen. It was bazaar standing there–as if my eyes didn’t believe it was true. I can’t quite articulate the experience I had but it was overwhelming and awe-inspiring. Despite the fact that it can’t fully live up to the experience, I’m quite happy with this exposure. We were quite lucky to have a sunny day when we made our trip along the West coast of Clare to visit the Cliffs of Moher but it was rather late in the day by the time we arrived so the sun was pretty low in the sky. Even though this limited my available light, it did provide a nice palette of colors.
During our visit we walked from O’Brien’s Tower (about another 100 yards to the right of where I took this shot) all the way over to the second or third cliff pictured on the left. The park was closed down shortly after we arrived so we were able to hop the slab wall and trek a bit further across the cliffs than we would have been allowed if the area had been staffed. I’ll be posting some more shots from that vantage point as I get through editing them.
