Jessi 1 & 2

Jessi 1 & 2

I had a hankering over the three day (President’s day) weekend to get some more portrait experience under my belt.  It’s been a while since I had Jessi in front of the lens so we decided to give it a go.  Since we were confined to our home (baby girl was napping) and I didn’t have artificial lighting or any kind of a set at my disposal I went with the technique I’ve tried a few times before utilizing a white backdrop, natural sunlight and a scrim.

The two photographs that I took from the set (click the picture at left to see) both show different aspects of Jessi’s personality.  In the first one her smile illustrates her personality perfectly; she is timid but genuine, sweet but strong.  The second photograph shows the side of her that is theatrical and quirky.  The second shot is cheesy but that was kind of the point.
