It has been awhile since I’ve posted anything and I’ve missed the creative flow. I’m now 8 weeks into my new job as a high school photography teacher and free time is quite rare. Things are going very well and I enjoy the job but it comes at the price of 12 hour work days because I have to plan and prepare the curriculum a day at a time.
Along with my classroom I inherited some cool vintage equipment that the previous photography teacher left behind. I’ve always been fascinated by machinery and mechanical things so naturally I wanted to photograph this piece since I first saw it. This was taken on one of the student cameras, a Canon Rebel XT in full manual mode. I used a single light box (which you can see reflected in the lens) as the only light source. I’m pleased with the result, I hope you enjoy it too!
